Ok, wow. Apparently those "silver pants of awesome" weren't too tight to produce an heir. Random googling has alerted me to the fact that Govinda's daughter, Narmmadaa (apparently the spelling is an astrological thing), is to be launched in films soon!
Apparently she caused quite a stir by attending the IIFA awards with Salman Khan a few years ago. Most of the news stories about her launch seem to be dated around 2007. More recent stories just seem to focus on the fact that she is planning to act, and that she doesn't want to co-star with another newcomer.
Did she launch? Did I miss it? These are crazy times, my friends. Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam, Rishi & Neetu's son Ranbir Kapoor, I heard something about Sridevi's daughter too (I'm kind of geektastically excited about Sribaby debuting) ... and now Mini-ChiChi?

I also found an video interview with Govinda in which he enthusiastically talks about Narmmadaa while his wife Sunita and Narmz look on with disinterest. Narmi speaks a bit at the end, you can totally tell that she's over this.

Hmmm... I feel like we've been waiting forever for Narmmaada's debut...and from reading that interview we could be waiting a lot longer. Chi Chi won't let her work as an assistant to an established filmmaker the way pretty much EVERY SINGLE OTHER STAR KID HAS? Sounds like she's doomed before she's even begun, because of daddy.
ReplyDeleteI did a double take when I saw those pictures of Narmmaada...she's the spitting image of Gauhar Khan, and I was SO sure I'd seen her before.
ReplyDeleteI guess this is old news, I've been out of the loop for ages. Yeah it sounds like he's effectively making her a diva before she's even arrived, and all this stuff about not wanting to work with another newcomer, not wanting to start w/ David Dhawan, etc.? Anyway it seems that the way to go is to flop first, a la Refugee & Saawariya.

I think this is inspiring me to do a Star Kids post about Abhishek, Akshaye, Sunny, Bobby and Esha Deol, Twinkle Khanna, Kajol, Karishma/Kareena, Ranbir & Sonam. Who am I missing???
